It is tradition, that come the 1st of January many of us make New Year’s resolutions such as going on a diet, stopping smoking or cutting out chocolate from our diet. But why should we only make New Year’s resolutions for our personal life? Surely it makes sense to make some at work too.
When looking forward to the next year you need to decide where you want to be in terms of your career. Are you happy in your current job, or do you need a change? Ideally you want to have a rough idea of where you want to be working and doing what position. Then you can work backwards to work out how you can achieve this. It may be that you need to return to education or do an evening course at college to get the qualification you need or maybe you need to sell more products and services in your current job to enable you to get a promotion.
