As a child, many of us wanted to work with animals Being a vet is one of the top ten jobs children say they want along with working in the police force, being a fireman and doctor but becoming a vet is very hard and takes years of training at university.
Some people simply cannot afford to go to uni for that long and therefore being a vet is out of the question, but there are plenty of other jobs that you can do with fewer qualifications that will allow you to work with animals.
Becoming a veterinary assistant is a lot more straight forward, and some practices offer these jobs with no previous experience or degrees required. You may start off on quite a low wage but can then progress and often you will be sent on courses if you can prove yourself.
Working in a zoo or safari park is another option where some of the jobs require a 3 year degree or some offer on the job training.
