How to Make yourself Stand Out to Employers

As a job hunter, you need to make sure you stand out. It’s not easy – the job market is a busy place and there are lots of people competing for the same positions. Here are some of the things you can do to make yourself memorable:

  1. Be friendly. Job hunting is stressful, but your potential new employer or recruiter doesn’t need to know this. Smile and be friendly.
  2. Make sure your CV and written communication are perfect. Lots of people have similar skills and say similar things, so make sure yours is 100% accurate to get you noticed.
  3. Be honest. Many candidates lie about why they want the job or their experience. If you are straight to the point and always tell the truth, it will show.
  4. Ask questions. Employers like people who interact with them and show an interest. It will help to make you more memorable to them as well.
